Alaska is one of the most extraordinary places I have ever photographed. From snow-covered mountains and dramatic skies to wildlife, glaciers, forests and long summer evenings, the landscape can change completely from one season to the next.
During my years living in Alaska, photography became one of my favorite ways to preserve the beauty around me. Some days brought brilliant sunshine over the mountains, while others offered fog, snow, clouds or incredible evening light. Wildlife could appear when I least expected it, making every trip outdoors a little different.
This gallery features some of my original Alaska photography, including landscapes, wildlife, mountains, winter scenery and moments from everyday life in the North.
I hope these photographs give you a glimpse of the wild, peaceful and sometimes dramatic beauty that makes Alaska such an unforgettable place.
Alaska’s landscapes are constantly changing with the weather, seasons and light. Mountains dominate much of the scenery, while lakes, rivers, forests and glaciers create endless opportunities for landscape photography.
Wildlife is one of my favorite parts of living in Alaska. Moose, birds and other animals can sometimes appear surprisingly close to everyday life, while other wildlife requires patience, distance and a little luck to photograph.
Whenever I photograph wildlife, I enjoy capturing animals behaving naturally in their surroundings.

Alaska in Winter
Winter transforms Alaska into an entirely different landscape. Snow covers the mountains, lakes freeze and daylight becomes dramatically shorter. Although Alaska winters can be long and challenging, they can also create beautiful photographic conditions.
Fresh snow, soft winter light, icy landscapes and dramatic mountain views are some of my favorite subjects to photograph during the colder months.
Alaska in Summer
Alaska’s short summer brings long days, green landscapes and a completely different atmosphere. With many hours of daylight, summer provides opportunities to photograph mountains, wildlife, lakes, flowers and scenery late into the evening.
Northern Lights Photography
Seeing the northern lights is one of Alaska’s most memorable experiences. A camera can reveal colors and details that may appear much more subtle to the human eye, making aurora photography especially fascinating.
